The South African hymn “Siyahamba” serves as the basis for this happy interpretation of the famous African folk song. Translated, the word “Siyahamba” literally means “We are marching”. As a result, the composition South African Groove should be played in a steady upbeat tempo without going too quickly. The composition can be performed by strings alone, however the optional addition of claves and conga drums adds another layer of authenticity to the music.
